A quick Google search shows that the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Worse, patients can experience loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, and chest pain, but what about blood clotting?
A viral Facebook post reveals that some COVID-19 patients suffer from severe blood clotting, which was removed every time they undergo a hemodialysis session. The post was made by Cla Dumigpe, who had a conversation with a friend who happens to be a health worker in a hospital in Makati.
Her friend sent her a photo of the extracted mass of blood clot and warned that if this enters the heart, it can lead to a heart attack. Her friend further stated that intensive care units (ICUs) are already full of patients who tested positive for COVID-19. Warning: some of the following photos may be considered disturbing for some viewers.

Blood clotting is apparently a new symptom of the deadly virus, and scientists are still figuring out why patients develop this. No official confirmation has been made yet, but an expert states that mounting evidence implies the connection of blood clotting to the severity of COVID-19.
Prevention is definitely better than cure, as Ms. Dumigpe's friend iterated the importance of wearing masks, using isopropyl alcohol and, most importantly, staying at home as a means to prevent the further spread of the virus.
